God sent redemption to their people; God has commanded this covenant forever. Holy and awesome is God’s name!
A part of me has always felt drawn to covenant - we can build community, connect with our family, etc. but my heart always longs for something more.
I think what I’m longing for is redemption - for myself and the people in my life.
In Spanish we have this saying,
“ni de aqí no de allá.”
“Not from here nor over there.”
It speaks of the void that borders cause, one where we cannot feel at home on either side. This restlessness carries over to my faith. I don’t quite fit on either side of the border. I’m too Americanized for Mexico and too Mexican for stateside.
I feel like without Jesus, I’d be too human for heaven. For me, Jesus bridges the gap between here and there.
Psalm 111 reminds me of the redemption I long for, the redemption I am promised. It’s the covenant that gives me comfort.

If you’re comfortable, share with us how covenant will shape your day today.
Covenant is hard. Promises made and kept. Today it's just about being a good parent and holding up my end of the bargain.
